“I was worried because I’m a big baby when it comes to pain but it was so slick.

“So little discomfort considering that they had to take a dime size lesion off my upper lip."

Janelle added: “Scarring will be very very minimal but it will take me a few weeks to heal.

"This place on my face just looked like scar tissue and because I had cold sores there since my early 20s - it honestly did not occur to me to have it even looked at.

"I hope this share will be helpful to some. I am sharing to say that, even if it seems like it couldn’t be skin cancer, it doesn’t hurt to have your doctor look at it [heart emoji]."

Janelle continued: "At first, I thought it was a new cold sore forming but then it never developed and just stayed. 

"Over the next year or so, it slowly increased in size.

"I started treating it with every scar medication I could find, thinking it was my body reacting to the years of trauma to that area of my face."

She further explained: "With the onset of Covid, my doctor's appointment was delayed two months but I finally had it checked out.

"It was a basal cell carcinoma, skin cancer, non-malignant, but it still needed to be removed."

What to know about Janelle Brown's health

On March 7, 2021, Janelle Brown announced she had a non-malignant form of skin cancer called Basal Cell Carcinoma removed from her upper lip and that "all is well."

After Sister Wives fans noticed the lip scarring during the show's 15th season, Janelle took to social media to address the matter.

The TLC network personality told her fans via Instagram: "Many of you have been noticing and reaching out to me about the blemish above my lip in the new episodes.

"I started to see what looked like a scar develop in an area on my lip where all of my cold sores for the past two decades have erupted."

Kody addressed rumors of remarriage

Kody recently addressed rumors that he's ready to marry a new wife after Christine, Meri, and Janelle left him.

The reality television star is currently only married to Robyn Brown, 44, after three of his four wives decided to call it quits in a 14-month span.

He has had a major perspective shift, telling People he's in no rush to head down the aisle.

"The idea of ever marrying again after the experience I've had, there's no reason for me to do that," Kody told the magazine.

"I feel like I've hit the bottom of a deep swimming pool, but I've pushed off and am headed to the surface."

Christine is 'proud' of Janelle

In a new interview with People, Christine and Janelle discussed their lives after divorcing Kody, 54, and their relationship with each other.

Christine admitted that she is "extremely proud" of Janelle and would be regardless of whether or not she divorced their shared man.

At least that's how she felt on the inside, but she felt differently on the inside.

She said: "On the inside, I was like, 'Girl! There's a whole huge freaking world out there you knew nothing about.'"

Janelle giggled beside her friend as she listened to Christine's opinion.

She then said: "For me, at this point in my life- because my marriage is over and I'm no longer part of a plural family- it means I have, like, infinite ability to choose what my next chapter looks like."

Both women alluded to feeling freer and more independent after they left Kody.

About Christine and Kody’s divorce

During the last season of the show, Christine Brown made the difficult decision to leave Kody after 25 years of marriage.

She also announced the split on Instagram on November 2, 2021, that they were parting ways after years of marriage problems.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” she wrote.

“We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family.

“At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family. With love, Christine Brown.”
