Subway Surfers is known for being a game that you can lose yourself in for hours and for being a great pastime, but some players take it far more seriously and achieve scores higher than most casual players can imagine. To that end, some players pushed toward howling for the highest score in the game, and that's what we're here to look at in this post.

If you ever find yourself asking, what is the highest score in Subway Surfers, we have the answer for you. Let's take a look at the highest scores and why (sadly) you'll never be able to break the world record.

What is the highest score in Subway Surfers?

To reach the pinnacle of Subway Surfers scores, players need to surpass the million points mark by a fair amount, a factor of a thousand to be exact, as the current record holders are all in the billions, yes, with a capital B. The current world record spots held by the top three players are as follows:

  • Harshal Gavali who scored 2,147,483,647 points

  • Karim Mayur with 2,000,001,660

  • Ruhanul I with 1,706,059,214

Reaching the top score is pretty much a pipe dream for the casual player, and for the adept players wishing to attempt to match this score, hours of play and practice are no doubt required. However, for anyone hoping to beat this score, it will be quite difficult, unfortunately.

You see, Subway Surfers, like any other game, is beholden to the code that it was written with, and the variable that holds a player's score is a 32-bit integer (int32) with a storage capacity between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647.

This means the maximum value a player's score can hold is our current record holder, Harshal's score, and cannot be surpassed as the value would become negative or invalid, and the game ends the run at this point.

This means that while this game might be touted as an "endless runner," there is a hard cap on the number of points you can receive. However, this cap is functionally endless for the average player since even reaching a million is a massive achievement. But it doesn't mean you can't aim to score the maximum amount of points as Harshal did and claim your spot at the top of the leaderboards of Subway Surfers.
